Everything we do is made possible through partnerships. Together our goal is to not only transform the South Plains but to transform the world.
Our agency partnerships are at the very heart of everything we do at the Volunteer Center. Partners receive benefits such as a free account on our online volunteer community Get Connected, promotion in our Guide to Volunteering in Lubbock and eNewsletters, discounted fees on workshops and consultations, and opportunities to connect with the community at Volunteer Center agency fairs and events. For these and other services, agency partners pay an annual fee of $150 (actual cost of services averages $3,500 per agency). It is our privilege to inspire a more engaged South Plains community by building up those who are making a difference in the lives of so many and by helping them to fulfill their unique missions and visions.
Please contact Paris Wright or give us a call at (806) 747-0551 for more information about becoming an Agency Partner.
The South Plains area is home to many great businesses making an impact in our community. We want to make it easy for businesses to make that impact. We help to make service easy by connecting businesses with local agencies needing volunteer and other support. We offer presentations on volunteering and community engagement, volunteer matching services to help employees find their best fit, and help companies create employee volunteer programs. We also offer extensive leadership programming for young professionals wanting to make an impact and for teams that want to become more high performing.

Volunteering changes the lives of those who give and those who receive. The goal of the Youth in Service Program is to build the next generation of community leaders by recognizing young people for the service they provide and by giving them training and support to develop service programs in their schools. Currently, we partner with 40 South Plains middle school and high schools. In September, youth and sponsors from each school attend our Service & Leadership Symposium where they receive training focused on generating ideas, developing strategies to implement service projects, and motivating student involvement. At the symposium, students also have the opportunity to connect with local agencies and to do hands-on service projects they can recreate at their school. Throughout the school year, the schools submit reports, photos, and videos documenting school-wide volunteer efforts and receive ongoing support from our program coordinator Jungwon Park. Participating schools are then recognized at our annual Celebration of Service Luncheon in May and receive an award check to use for volunteer projects the next year.

At the Volunteer Center, we believe impact comes first. We believe what we do matters and is making a difference on the South Plains. When we talk to people about giving to the Volunteer Center, we truly see it as an investment. We want you to see a return on every dollar – a more engaged community, people finding their purpose and acting on it, the next generation of leaders discovering a passion for service. If we’re not making an impact, then we’re not worth your investment. But we are. Last year students at our 40 partnering schools logged 247,683.05 hours and raised $136,348.35 for area agencies. We made 4,358 volunteer referrals to our more than 100 agency partners. 938 professionals participated in workshops and consultations, receiving 4,357.75 hours of training. And that’s just the tip of our impact. There are many ways to invest in the Volunteer Center’s impact. You can make a donation today or send an email to our Development Manager Paris Wright to find out how you can get involved in other opportunities like our Leadership and Impact Societies. Where your investment goes:
- $8 – connects an adult volunteer to a community need
- $100 – mobilizes 5 youth volunteers to support area nonprofits
- $1,500 – engages 3 participants in transformative leadership programming
- $5,000 – the annual cost to support one school or agency partner
